How to use the red strip running down the middle of the door guard – It would have been helpful if the installation instructions were written in English. I eventually figured out that installation was a combination of pressing the guard up against the door edge and pulling the strip out at the same time.

Looks Good – Not sure how well it will stay in the gaps. Time will tell.

Needs better adhesive – This is the second time I have bought this product. It goes on pretty easy and is very pliable for the curve of your door. But, it started to come loose at the top end because the adhesive was not holding and it became discolored (as opposed to clear). This time around I will add a little bit of E-6000 to the ends to hold them in place. Otherwise a very good value for the money.

Ok, but plastic is scuffed up – Using this as a subtle trim in my ‘95 Civic Hatchback. Installation is easy and self explanatory. The only down side to the product is the plastic is scuffed up in some spots. Going to try a heat gun on it to melt it down. Wouldn’t expect to have to do this for something new though.

Nice cheap enhancement – This product relies on pressure to keep it in place. That being said it is a fine line between too tight and too loose. Too tight and you cannot place it there. Too loose and it may pop up some. I mainly noticed this in areas with a lot of bends, like around the controls of the door. If where you are wanting to place it is very tight it probably won’t happen. I used the tool it came with as more of a gentle pry bar and a felt covered squeegee I already had to help push into place. All in all I would still recommend it but just know you will have some limits. You can trim a little triangle out or multiple splices in areas of sharper corners to help the bend.

Good stuff – I gave “easy to install” a 5 star, because it was extremely easy. I gave “value” and “adhesion” 4 stars only because these things cannot be rated right away. The adhesion appears to be working, but will see over time. That will also effect my rating of value if the adhesion does not hold up, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

Don’t expect too much… – Having read many of the reviews I knew to take a careful approach to installing the product. I used drugstore rubbing alcohol to clean the door edge inside and out and a small rubber hammer for the final tap-down and got a sturdy pair of scissors to trim the angle I wanted at the top (and, later, the bottom). If you can leave the product in a warm place, or, out in the sun to get soft before starting, it will help. I’ve done this before but even with past knowledge and strong fingers I really had to work to get a nice looking install – careful, for instance, to pull about an inch of the red tape out before starting so I’d have enough “leader” to pull to get the rest of it out and seat the adhesive. It’s been on about a week and it does protect our second car from most dings we might otherwise inflict on it. It also protects our now covered door edges from dings and nicks we might get opening onto a wall or another car. (Some is better than nothing.) This stuff isn’t expensive or “factory” so I expect it will need to be replaced from time to time. I’d rather do that than take either car to the shop for painting, or, to hear about “dings” from my parking-lot neighbors. What I like most about it is that it does provide a “soft hit” when the doors open. Many of the other like products might protect you car, but are so hard they won’t protect the one next to it – not even YOUR other car. So, this one’s worth it – and it’s worth keeping in good shape by replacing it from time to time. I got the clear product – too hard to match colors and stuff always fades or changes colors anyway. Thumbs up… Mostly.

Inexpensive and easy to install protection – Fairly inexpensive protection for my door edges. Clear color is unobtrusive. However, it could be a bit wider- the channel is not deep enough to fit over any thick weld spots along the door edge which causes it to come off.
