Not worth buying – I bout this for work ( I’m a driver) and thought this would do well since I change vehicles often and the cell holders that have the suction cups wouldn’t hold up. This one clamped well the first time but when I tried to tighten it for a second time it stripped the threads and is now useless, thankfully it was cheep but I would not recommend this item

Not worth buying – I bout this for work ( I’m a driver) and thought this would do well since I change vehicles often and the cell holders that have the suction cups wouldn’t hold up. Poor clamp design, ok for hanging small phones – the clamp titghning wheel /screw cant be tightened very strong or it will break as other reviews show. the clamp triangular shape does not grip well round bars or flat ridges ( guitar neck, desk edge,) when used as phone in above the mount position. bad compromise in design trying to handle two different surfaces. The telescopic extension is barely an inch longer, so useful for a larger phone. 360 rotation is not locking, only friction with clicks , so cant handle heavier phones. iIts best used as straight hanging , phone below the mount, from a round bar for a not too heavy phone and dont tighten the screw too hard. At best a mediocre mount for limited use in car rear view mirror mount. not a good buy for price.

Good idea but some things to be aware of. – This was almost just what I needed. It so strongly holds onto the rearview mirror support and that is great. Unfortunately I had some trouble adjusting it in the mechanism broke. I think I was forcing it though. My problem was that I want my phone to be vertical in order to see more of the road ahead (GPS). In order to keep the phone from obscuring the rearview mirror itself, I would have to mount the phone so the phone clamp was high on my phone. When I do that, the clamp presses on the volume controls of my phone. So it didn’t quite work. The good news is that even broken, I was able to mount it in my heating vent and that has been working quite well. A little duct tape though required.
