Automated grip works great; charging is a bit tenuous – I’ve used a lot of in-car phone holders over the years, and this is the first I’ve gotten with a motorized grip — that is, where it closes on the phone automatically and then releases with a button press when you’re leaving. This works great. It automatically opens when you start the car and the USB port powers up, and then when you power down, you press a button to release and the motorized arm opens. Much better than the spring-loaded ones.

Great, but not perfect… – Unlike other wireless charging mounts, this one works without having to take off your phone case. It likely won’t work with all cases, but does work with a thinner one…despite having a soft magnetic mount sticker on the back (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B093VN3X24/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Also, it has a built-in Supercapacitor so that you can push the release button AFTER turning your car off.
